Cupar 21 Mar 1867. I John Mathewson Myrtle Tce Newport proprietor of the lands in consideration of the feu duty & other prestations & £200 declared a real burden affecting lands (2), sell to James Brown cabinet maker & builder Newport all & whole
(1) 75 pol imperial on plan no 2 by William Scott architect Dundee, : W by road 25' wide leading from Marytown to & past the Free Church Manse southwards, hereinafter called Manse Road, : S by a road running from Manse Road along the back of the cottages lately erected by James Brown on grnd feued by him from Berry eastwards towards the wood called 'Jackson's Wood', : E partially by the cottage & grnd lately purchased by Mrs Boyd from James Brown & partly by property still belonging to him, : N by 15' road running from Manse Road to the termination or foot of Mrs Boyd's property
(2) 64 pol imperial coloured blue on another plan no. 2 by William Scott architect Dundee with the dw houses erected on said pce grnd, : W partly by property of Mrs Ann Forrest / Gibson wife of Kenneth Gibson, & partly by Manse Road, : S by said 15' road which divides (1) from (2) & (3), : E by (3), : N by a road leading from Manse Road eastwards
(3) pce grnd immediately E of (2) coloured pink on the last mentioned plan no. 2, 39 pol imperial, : W by (2), :S by said 15' road, : E by property belonging to me [John Mathewson], : N by said road leading from Manse Road eastwards
which 3 lots have been marked off by stones … free ish & entry from Manse Road … road of 15' width is included in the measurements … full use of these & any new roads … these subjects are pt of subjects disp to John Kidd 11 Jun 1830 … pts of lot 20 [description of lot 20]. Lands (2) with the dw houses t/on are under burden of £200 part of the purchase price … 5% interest … It is hereby further expressly provided & declared that these presents are granted under the condition that the said lands above disponed together with the houses erected or to be erected t/on shall be designed & known in future by the general name 'Maryfield Terrace' … feu duties yearly (1) £8-18-1, (2) £8, (3) £5-16-0, total £22-15-1. 25 Jan 1867, Robert Boyd solicitor. 1 Feb 1867.
