Introduction

From about 1905 until about 1950, both the house (9) and the building behind (7) were the home of the Newport Liberal Club. A caretaker lived on the premises. From c. 1950 to c. 1965 the building at the back was an Ebenezer Chapel. The building at the back was originally twice its present length.
