Cupar 9 March 1829 … On 22 January 1829 appeared David Just, mason Newport as procurator & attorney for Alexander Bell spirit dealer in Dundee & Mrs Margaret Hill or Bell his wife, and James Duncan, wright at Newport, bailie … holding disp by David Henderson, eldest son of deceased Thomas Henderson, wright Newport, to Alexander Bell & spouse … of
(1) parts and portion of that piece of ground feued by David Henderson from William Just with the Eastmost of the 2 dwelling houses built upon the said piece of ground together with ground in front of said E-most house between it and the King's highway and also the garden behind said dwelling house extending between the back wall thereof and the N garden wall or dyke, bounded on N by said garden wall or dyke, bounded on E by property belonging to William Patrick, on S by the King's highway, on W by mutual gable wall between the house thereby disponed and said other adjacent house on the W thereof and by a continuation of a straight line of centre of said mutual gable prolonged on each side till it reach the said southern & northern boundaries,
(2) as also the ground, situated to the N of the said garden ground before mentioned and also to the N of the coterminous garden ground sold by said David Henderson to David Jack bounded on the N by march stones, being the N boundary of the whole ground feued by David Henderson, on E by property belonging to William Patrick, on S partly by the garden ground before described and partly by the wall of the coterminous ground sold to David Jack which wall should be the sole property if the disponees, and on W by the property of Andrew Kilgour, together with erections on the E piece of ground last before mentioned & free entry to the whole subjects by a 3' road or passage leading from the King's highway N along the W side of the W-most dwelling house built on the piece of ground feued by David Henderson and since sold to David Jack and then running E along the back of said house till it reach the subjects beforementioned … right of shipping … reserving to David Jack and heirs of remaining parts of said piece of ground feued by David Henderson which have been disponed to him … entry to and from the same across the ground last mentioned by a footpath communicating therewith by a door in the said mutual garden wall … to frequent the Sea Mill … witnesses David Jack, late farmer Balmerino, & William Just, mason … RS 32/167/140
