28 June 1834 William Berry of Tayfield, superior of the subjects … Katherine Taylor or Black spouse of James Black, formerly shoemaker, Newport, now tenant in Spearhill, heritable proprietor of the subjects … to William Berry … all & whole that piece of ground lying upon Dundee Waterside being 32' along the highway opposite to the houses formerly possessed by Andrew Johnston & Andrew Ogilvie, boatmen, upon the S, the same measure being continued down to the high water mark marching with the yard formerly possessed by John Duncan upon the W, & the yard formerly possessed by Christian Reekie upon the E, & also dwelling house & other buildings on said piece of ground, always reserving free and constant access to others in the neighbourhood to the well at the foot of the piece of ground disponed within the tenandry of Tayfield … RS 32/202/150
