Cupar 13 Mar 1852, on behalf of William Gibb superintendent Edinburgh Water Works, Colinton ... feued part of the lands of Seacraig (1) in the northmost street of the village of Maryton with dwelling house & offices thereon, 42 falls 17 ells Scotch or 53 pol 17.05 sq yd imperial, bounded by the lot of ground feued by John Campbell vintner in Dundee on the E, by a cart road of 25' on the S, by a lot of ground feued by John C Farquharson timber merchant Dundee on the W, and by a cart road 30' wide on N; also (2) that piece of ground in the middle street of Maryton 40 falls 4 ells Scotch, 50 pol 17 sq yd imperial bounded by lot of ground feued by John Hay farmer at Kinross on E, by road 24' wide on S, by lot of ground feued by William Young watchmaker Dundee on W, and by said road of 25' on the N which separates it from the subjects first above described on the north parts ... measurements of plots includes half of the roads ...
