Cupar 11 November 1854 … At Dundee on behalf of John Robertson, grocer Dundee, was presented a feu ch by Berry, Tayfield … [selling] to John Robertson … piece of ground on N side of the road leading from Easter Newport to Ferryport on Craig, forming the W-most lot of ground on a plan by William Scott, architect Dundee, of the park immediately E of Easter Newport through which the turnpike road passes … lot 5 … 35 poles … bounded on N by the inner or landward edge of the rocks lying between said ground & the sea shore, on W by the sea braes belonging to Berry, on S by the turnpike road, on E by lot unfeued No. 4 … no sub-feus … erect a house within 3 years … not more that 1 storey high above the level of the turnpike … not less that £150 in value, wall to turnpike not greater than 3' high & surmounted by metal railings … not to be used as an inn etc … £3 annually feu duty … RS 32/303/70
