397 | Kilnburn Field | 1.774 acres | original feu for W side of Kilnburn | (Brown) | ||
This is the original feu for the west side of Kilnburn. There must have been a change of plans because it was revoked 6 weeks after it had been granted and a new larger feu was taken. The difference between them was 1007.6 sq. m (39.8 pol). Without consulting the original sasine, the reasons for the change are speculative, but the original smaller feu may have been narrower than the later one, and may have excluded the Tayfield wright's workshop on the Cupar Road. Conversely, 39 pol would be ideal for a small plot between Scott Street road end and the Congregational Church. See plot ID 259 for the newer feu. |
