Edinburgh 23 Oct 1800. On 11 October 1800 appeared Andrew Keddy, writer in Dundee attorney for John Cairncross, merchant, Dundee & John Ogilvie, writer, Dundee as Trs for deceased Ann Lumsden, relict of Peter Kidd, merchant in Dundee … deed of settlement … also appeared John Watson jun, boatman Dundee as baillie … trust deed with sasine which relates that William Gordon, vintner Dundee, by his bond & disp. security 16 May 1795 to Mrs Ann Lumsden for £800 … (1) All & whole these formerly 2 now 3 mills of Inverdovat with the multure & sequels, Den & Den lands thereof, with the houses & pertinents, being all pt of Inverdovat herein described … & also (2) possession of the lands of Inverdivot, houses & yards consisting of about 2 acres of ground lying & bounded as herein mentioned & also (3) all & whole park or field of land called Woodmuir Park, part of Inverdivot … [described again, in more detail:] (1) formerly 2 now 3 mills of Sea Mills of Inverdovat … with the Den & Den lands, the lands & houses formerly possessed by David Webster, the house & yard possessed by Alexander Gourlay, the house possessed by John Rollo, & lands possessed by Andrew Lanceman, all parts of Inverdivot and bounded as follows: from the sea south the stripe leading up the Den by the number of - march stones to the uppermost of these stones & then westward in a line to the head of the new Inclosure about the Woodmuir then north to the sea by the east ditch of that inclosure, but always reserving to Dr James Walker & his tenants & others having his commission a thoroughfare or passage to the said quarry, & which lands were feued by Robert Russel from the said James Walker & deponed by Robert Russel to William Gordon and also (2) all and hail that possession of the lands of Inverdivot with houses & yards alls sometime ago occupied by Elizabeth Paterson consisting about 2 acres grouns bounded said houses & yards by high water mark on N, by King's highway on S, by subjects belonging to Heirs of James Rea on W, & subjects formerly belonging to John Lyon of Kinnaird now to - and divided from the subjects by march stones on E parts, and the arable land of said possession is bounded by the subjects belonging to heirs of William Syme of Woodhaven on the W, the subjects belonging to heirs of James Rea on E, by high water mark on N, and by the subjects formerly belonging to John Lyon now to - on the S, parts of which last subjects were feued out by John Lyon to David Adam and James Adam and by them to James Taylor and by him to William Gordon; and also (3) all and whole … the park of Woodmuir feued out by John Lyon to Charles Drummond shoemaker in Dundee and by him to William Gordon, & bounded by said subjects disponed by Robert Russel to William Gordon on E, Thomas Just's ground on W, by lands of Inverdivot disponed by John Lyon to John Berry & now called Tayfield on S, and by highway on N … RS 3/624/46
