17 Dec 1803 at Cupar. On 3 Dec 18033 appeared personally Thomas Brown residenter in Woodhaven as attorney for Archibald Campbell Stewart of St Fort, and Frederick Smith chaise driver at Woodhaven as baillie for William Gordon eldest son and heir of deceased William Gordon late of Woodhaven, holding a disposition signed by William Gordon gounger ... whereby he sold to Archibald Campbell Stewart ... (1) all & whole the lands of Flasshill commonly called Harlowshiells with houses biggings yards malt barn kiln coble and pertinents ... with salmon fishings on River Tay belonging thereto with harbour of Woodhaven & anchorages shore dues & customs & casualties; and (2) all & whole town and lands of Woodhaven, houses buildings port & harbour of same & salmon fishings within the whole bounds of same upon Water of Tay adjacent thereto; and (3) all & whole park or field of land called Woodmuir Park part of the lands of Inverdovat, bounded by ground sometime of Robert Russell afterwards of said William Gordon junior and now sold by him to John Berry of Tayfeild on the east, by Thomas Just's ground on the west, by lands of Inverdovan lately belonging to John Lyon of Kinnair now to said John Berry on the south, and by the high road on the north parts, together with the salmon fishings to the west of Newport Pier and extending as far up the river west only as the house formerly possessed by Alexander Gourlay with the seaware opposite the said park, privilege of Archibald Campbell Stewart & aforesaids of spreading their fishing nets on the rock or piece of vacant ground on the north side of their houses and yards formerly possessed by William Robertson, & free ish ... to said fishings by the brae on the north side of said high road; and (4) all & whole that possession of (a) lands of Inverdovat & (b) houses & yards all as occupied and possessed by Elizabeth Paterson consisting of about 2 acres of ground; (a) the houses & yards bounded by the high water mark on the north, by the King's highway on the south, by subjects sometime belonging to fiars of deceased James Rae now to said John Berry on the west, and by subjects feued by John Lyon when proprietorof Inverdovat to Thomas Just mason and separated by march stonesfrom this part on the east; (b) the arable ground of the said possession is bounded by the lands of Woodhaven also disponed on the west,on the east by subjects formerly of James Rae and now of John Berry, on the north by the high water mark, and on the south by subjects of John Berry occupied by Andrew Lanceman ... [but] (i) £400 ... in bond ... 8 Nov 1794 by deceased William Gordon to Mrs Alison Grieg relict of William Syme late of Woodhaven in liferent and Alexander Syme merchant late in Dundee now in London & heirs in fee ... (ii) £2600 the balance by William Gordon to Alexander Syme, assigned by him to William Bisset merchant in Dundee 13 Nov 1797 ... (iii)£1400 bond by Alexander Syme while proprietor of said lands of Flasshill & Woodhaven to William Dingwale of Buckley 2 Nov 1791 to which William Bisset acquired right by conveyance Nov 1793 ... as real burdens ... witnessed upon the ground by George Nicoll innkeeper at Woodhaven & David Gardner his servant ...
