Cupar 2 Nov 1867 … John Berry proprietor of the ground dispones to John Brebner baker … pce grnd at Newport bounded on E by the pce grnd feued to William Wilson grocer …, on N by turnpike road Cupar - Newport Pier, on W by ground belonging to me still unfeued, by proposed street to be called Prinlaws Place on S, 38' 4" frontage including half of the gable wall between the building erected by William Wilson & the building to be erected by John Brebner, which gable is mutual, the lot contains in all 9 poles and 1/4 pole … John Brebner within 2 years to erect & maintain a shop and flat of not less than £400 value … plan of elevations etc by turnpike trustees St Andrews district 6 April 1857 … height not to exceed that shown on plan (excluding chimneys), flat roof, type of stone to be agreed … maintain 8' path with stone curb & water channel along whole frontage to t/p road to N, E-most gable to be mutual & W-most wall shall be mutual; build a 6' high 15" thick wall between the property & Prinlaws Place and not allowed any gate in said wall … not allowed to keep an inn or house for the sale of spirituous or malt liquors nor stabling nor horses for hire, or to erect or keep thereon any brewery or distillery steam engine spinning mill or any other work or thing that will be considered a nuisance to the neighbourhood … £4-15-0 feu duty … RS 32/360/70
