Cupar 30 Nov 1867 … I, James Brown cabinet maker & builder Newport proprietor of the subjects, £200 sterling instantly paid to me by Peter Scott mason Newport, disp to him the pce grnd & dw ho & other erections thereon, part of the subjects disp by Mathewson 25 Jan 1867.
bounded W by subjects disponed by me to Mrs Margaret Fowler or Brown Newport, liferent, & Robert Forrester mason Newport in fee, the boundary between this ground & the ground disponed to them is marked by stones
bounded S by subjects still belonging to me from which theseseparated by a mutual stone dyke
Bounded E by subjects disponed to David Cooper sometime slater in Dundee presently residing in Newport separated by a mutual stone dyke with access by David Cooper to this ground to repair the west gable of David Cooper's house and for cleaning out the spout around the west gable
bounded N by a road leading from Manse Road eastwards …
declaring that the W gable of this house and the washing house partly behind this house & partly behind the house of Mrs Margaret Fowler / Brown & Robert Forrester shall be mutual … £2-6-10 feu duty … within 2 years to erect a stone dyke on the N boundary similar in all respects to that now erected on the N boundary of David Cooper's … not competent for [P Scott] to erect houses or offices at any time upon the ground lying on the N side of the dwelling house hereby disponed but it shall be kept as garden ground now and in all time coming … not competent for [P Scott] to erect any building greater in height that the dwelling house already on the ground nor to erect any house or offices greater than 8' in height … [P Scott] has free access & liberty to take water from the pump well presently situated on subjects disponed to {Fowler / Brown / Forrester] … [and to meet half costs of repairs each] … [P Scott] has free access to these subjects from the Manse Road along a road lying immediately S of the property belonging to Mrs Ann Forrest / Gibson and a passage at least 4' wide in a continuation thereof which [Fowler / Brown / Forrester] are bound to leave out to the S of their dwelling house … [P Scott] to leave out a passage of at least 4' to the S in continuation thereof to allow David Cooper access to [his porperty] … part of the property disp to John Kidd … RS32/361/36
